The Newly Resored Floor Looks Amazing!
I am thrilled with the result of the restoration work that has now been completed on the drawing room floor. Having been surprised that the wood underneath all of that thick black varnish was not oak as expected, I am still not sure what the bright orangy red wood actually is. However,the resoration company, having stripped all of that thick black varnish off before applying two coats of matt sealant, which was then sanded back again before a final coat of sealant was applied, have done a great job. The next task is going to be painting the 48′ by 25′ room with 15′ ceilings but if it turns out anything like the floor it is going to look amazing!!
